[Science and Education]: Bringing New Opportunities to Future Students standard

11,525 prospective students will be applying to higher educational institutions of Armenia for the 2014-2015 academic year. As such, FAR is expecting to receive numerous applications from students to seize the opportunities offered by the FAR Education Programs. Future students will have a chance to apply to six different scholarship programs: Mathevosian Scholarship, Jerar Nishanian Foundation Scholarship, Gulamerian Foundation Scholarship, Ester Ajemian Scholarship, Armine and Garabed Zambak Scholarship, and the Mardigian Scholarship. Since 1997, FAR has provided scholarships to students all over Armenia. At the moment, more than 300 students receive our benefactors’ generous support. [FAR Children’s Center]: In the Footsteps of Leaders standard

Gohar Vardanyan is a first-year MA student in the Department of Political Science of the Yerevan State University’s Faculty of International Relations. She is also a second-year BA student of Law attending evening classes. Gohar is able to keep up with such ambitious studies through the support of the Armine and Garabed Zambak Scholarship, which helps young Armenian become strong and dedicated future leaders in politics, international relations, and public administration. It also aims to develop the culture of philanthropy in Armenia by encouraging recipients to give back, though Gohar had been a volunteer long before she became a recipient of the Zambak Scholarship. [FAR New York]: FAR Honors the Memory of Armine Zambak standard

Armine and Garabed Zambak It is with deep sorrow that we inform our readers that beloved humanitarian, mother, and educator Armine Zambak has passed away. May her soul rest in peace. Armine Zambak was a woman who strived to strengthen Armenia and inspire its future generation of political leaders. She created the Armine and Garabed Zambak Scholarship Fund in 2010 in honor of her husband, the late Garabed Zambak, a successful entrepreneur and business leader in Istanbul who was especially dedicated to preserving Armenian heritage. After Garabed Zambak’s death in 1977, she continued his legacy. Like her husband, Mrs. Zambak believed strongly in furthering educational opportunities.
