[Child Protection]: FAR Children’s Center Mission Outreach Touches 1,000 Families standard

The Yerevan Zoo has proven to be a great venue for spreading the news about FAR’s groundbreaking work in child protection. Staff from FAR Children’s Center reached the families of more than 1,000 children during the Pan-Armenian Painting Contest, which was held at the zoo last month. The annual art contest, organized by the Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets (FPWC), brings together Armenians from around the country with the goal of raising awareness about environmental issues amongst youth. [FAR Children’s Center]: FAR to Launch New Child Poverty Reduction Program standard

In 2009, UNICEF defined child poverty as one of the most acute manifestations of human poverty. It is today one of the most critical problems in Armenia, as it negatively affects children throughout their lives. The Fund for Armenian Relief is about to launch a new social project channelled toward the reduction of child poverty rates in Armenia thanks to the commitment and willingness of the Ajemian Foundation and FAR’s outstanding benefactor Peter Sarkessian of Detroit, MI. The program envisions targeted assistance to children and their families who face financial hardship and are exposed to various risks.
