FAR’s ANSEF grants are in high demand in the Armenian scientific community. Last year, 192 scientific proposals were submitted to the ANSEF Grant Research Council for review. After reviewing the submission pool, the ANSEF council, under the leadership of Dr. Yervant Terzian, selected 27 research groups to be awarded grants of 5,000 USD each in 2010. It should be noted that this year, there was a remarkable number of young scientists among the recipients of the ANSEF grants. Physical Research Institute Scientist Artur Ishkhanian mentioned that “ANSEF has made a great contribution to the sciences in Armenia. FAR’s ANSEF Program plays a decisive role by introducing new standards and new approaches to scientific research in Armenia.” FAR would like to express it deepest gratitude to Dr. Yervant Terzian and the ANSEF Grant Research Council, and also to Mr. Armen A. Avanessians, ANSEF’s generous benefactor, for their patriotic initiative and continuous efforts.
