Chess: Aronian Ties for Top Prize at Moscow Tourney.

Armenia’s chess ace Levon Aronian has won a rare top prize at a major tournament this year in a season that has also brought him his career-high rating on the FIDE player list.


Competing against nine other top grandmasters at Mikhail Tal Memorial Aronian, the highest current FIDE rank holder among the participants, earned 5 ½ points and tied for the first spot with Azerbaijan’s Shakhriyar Mamedyarov and Russia’s Sergey Karjakin.
