FAR Supports an Additional 385 People with Emergency Assistance Packages

FAR recently distributed emergency assistance packages to an additional 385 individuals who have been affected by government lockdown in response to COVID-19. While each of these people had already benefitted from a FAR project, this was the first time that they had received emergency assistance from the organization in response to the pandemic.

The distributions are part of an overall emergency effort to help the most vulnerable to overcome their losses of income or employment, or that of their families. The most recent beneficiaries, who received both non-perishable food supplies and hygiene kits, receive help from FAR’s programs, including the Children of Armenia Sponsorship Program (CASP); the Gulamerian Scholarship Program; the Anoush Mathevosian Scholarship Program; and the Social Assistance to Orphans and Syrian-Armenian Youth in Need Project.

Since COVID-19 first surfaced in Armenia, FAR has helped more than 5,000 individuals with emergency assistance.
