22-year-old Erik Tadevosyan is confident that the training he enrolled in January 2024 has completely transformed his career, leading him to a more stable, well-paying job that he holds today.
Originally from Armavir Province, Armenia, Erik had been juggling various jobs before landing a position at a local restaurant, where he worked as a waiter and a bartender. “One day, staff of the Activity visited us, and my supervisor asked if I was interested in getting enrolled in a training program. ‘Why not?’ I thought. I’ve always wanted to learn more and gain new skills, so I applied,” shared Erik. Through the Tourism and Hospitality Course, made possible by the Armenia Workforce Development Activity- Implemented by EIF, Erik honed his skills in the catering industry.
Erik frankly acknowledges how the training strengthened his communication skills, boosting his confidence to work effectively with diverse clients. “The career paths we choose have the power to shape us. There comes a time when you want something new and stable. I’ve always enjoyed hospitality, but I was growing tired at my previous job. Confident in my marketing, communication, and sales skills, I decided to shift into a different service area,” said Erik, who has been working as a Marketing and Sales Manager at SOLAR Tech Energy for the past four months. In this new role, he can manage his time more efficiently and better balance work and life—something he couldn’t do in his previous job.
“I can confidently say that flexibility is the key to my communication with clients—I can understand their issues and offer alternative solutions. The training helped me enhance my skills and build confidence as a professional,” concluded Erik, adding that he has already signed 15 contracts with clients locally and in the region.
