Dr. Achikam Oren-Grinberg and his team from Boston, Dr. Eli Gelfand and Dina Labkovsky, came to Armenia on a special mission: to enhance the knowledge and professional skills of their Armenian counterparts.
They succeeded by holding a conference that focused on up-to-date medical trends in anesthesiology and cardiology. They also held a separate conference for nurses, which was dedicated to the late FAR Board member Annette Choolfaian, a visionary in the field of public health.
The conferences were an important part of FAR’s Continuing Medical Education Program (CME), which helps doctors to keep their skills fresh and up to date.
“The initiative was tremendous for our health workers from Yerevan and rural communities who don’t often have the opportunity to interact with professors of this caliber or participate in conferences that touch upon particular topics. I think we’ll see the results of this networking in the near future,” said FAR Health Programs Director Dr. Hambardzum Simonyan.
