Inspiring Generation Alpha: Educational Progress in Noyemberyan Region

Updated: Dec 17

We are thrilled to share the remarkable progress we’ve made in the Noyemberyan region of Tavush province through the FAR’s BCPP program. These achievements mark not just infrastructure improvements but also the creation of environments where children and youth can learn, grow, and thrive.

One of our most heartwarming milestones is the transformation of Noyemberyan #2 Kindergarten, which now welcomes over 130 children. This once-aging building has blossomed into a vibrant, nurturing space filled with bright walls and educational imagery that spark curiosity and joy. As Principal Parandzem Khangeldyan shared: “The renovation and refurbishment of the kindergarten has increased attendance. We used to have around 120 children; now, we have more than 130 kids. FAR helped us create a safer place for children to gather and learn. The new furniture, kitchen equipment, and even simple additions like an electric oven and washing machine have made our work so much more effective.”

In the Noyemberyan Art School, about 300 aspiring young artists now have access to modern furniture and tools that inspire their creativity and help them excel. These changes have not only improved the physical space but have fostered an environment where talent can truly flourish.

For the students of Voskepar Elementary School, the harsh winter days are finally a thing of the past. A new heating system has been installed, ensuring a warm and welcoming environment for 25 children who no longer have to study wrapped in coats against the cold.

Beyond schools, our carpet weaving group, launched in the fall of 2023 in Voskevan community, is empowering 16 children aged 7 to 12 to embrace their cultural heritage and develop artistic skills. Their dedication shines through in two successful exhibitions showcasing their handwoven works, with another eagerly anticipated exhibit just in time for Christmas.

In Archis and Baghanis communities, technology classrooms have been renovated and fully equipped, opening doors to digital learning for around 100 students from grades 2 to 6. These spaces are now hubs of innovation, sparking a passion for technology in young minds.

Lastly, after months of anticipation, the cafeterias at Haghtanak and Kogh Schools are buzzing with life. These revamped spaces have become vibrant gathering spots, where students enjoy nutritious meals and the joy of community.

Since 2013, the multi-faceted and comprehensive BCPP has promoted activities that generate positive and sustainable impact for families in Berd, Ijevan and Noyemberyan Regions of Tavush Province. BCPP is generously funded by the Mardigian Family Foundation.
