An area in Valence, France, where hundreds of Armenian Genocide survivors arrived in the early 1920s will be named after Charles Aznavour. Azanavour will be honored at FAR’s gala in New York on Friday.
The opening ceremony of a square after world-renowned singer Charles Aznavour will be held in Valence (Drome) in France on Friday. The area is located opposite the center of Armenian heritage. Hundreds of Armenian Genocide survivors arrived in this “historical Armenian quarter” of the city in the early 1920’s, Nouvelles d’Armenie reports.
