Vice Rector of Yerevan State Medical University (YSMU) and a key member of FAR’s Health Programs team Gevorg Yaghjyan recently received the “Drastamat Kanayan” medal for his contribution and hard work to the health sphere during the years following the Karabagh War. Armenia’s Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan presented Gevorg with the medal on February 23, formerly known as the Soviet holiday of “Army Day,” now called “Defender of the Fatherland Day.” The holiday is celebrated annually to honor all veterans.
FAR’s Continuing Medical Education Program (CME) gives doctors from Armenia’s rural areas the opportunity to enhance their modern medical knowledge and practice. Partnership with YSMU is an integral component of this program, which gives doctors the opportunity to learn about innovative approaches and methodologies from top healthcare providers in Yerevan free of cost.
