[Child Protection]: Children’s Centers Receive Special Holiday Visits image

The day before Archbishop Khajag Barsamian's visit on December 27th, the kids decided to help with the preparations. First, they accompanied the staff of the FAR Children’s Center on their shopping trip for groceries. Upon their return, they divided into groups to prepare festive dishes. Some of the children took over the hot dishes, the rest did the salads. Another group was responsible for the preparation of cake and sweets.

[FAR Schools]: A Gift for the Gavar Special School standard

Friends of Gavar Special School recently presented the gift of a van to Gavar Special School #1 in Gegharquniq Marz. Fully equipped with winter-ready tires, the van was presented by Friends Chairman Krikor Krikorian during a small ceremony on the grounds that was also broadcast on Qyavar TV in Armenia. Larisa Zazyan, Director of Gavar Special School, opened the ceremony with words of gratitude for the Friends group, which is based in New York. The school is delighted to have the support of the fund, which greatly contributes to improving the children’s learning environment and development. [ANSEF]: 12 Successful Years of Science Celebrated in ANSEF’s Very First Forum in Yerevan standard

  On September 24 FAR held the very first forum to celebrate 12 successful years of the Armenian National Science and Education Fund. During the event, dignitaries from U.S. and Armenia acknowledged the great work and tremendous assistance that the ANSEF program has provided in promoting the development of Armenia’s science. Dr. Aram Chobanian from Boston University led the forum as chairman. [FAR Children’s Center]: Archbishop Khajag Barsamian and Libbi Heffern visit FAR Children’s Center. standard

By Manane Petrosyan Last Friday, the FAR Children’s Center hosted visitors Libbi Heffern, wife of U.S. Ambassador John Heffern, and the President of FAR’s Board of Directors Archbishop Khajag Barsamian. The Center’s children warmly welcomed Archbishop Barsamian and Mrs. Heffern with a delightful dance performance. Afterwards, the guests took a short tour around the Center to learn more about the children and the services that the Center provides. Later, Children’s Center Director Doctor Mira Antonyan gave a presentation about the Center’s programs and also showed a film about the Center’s beneficiaries. His Eminence Archbishop Khajag Barsamian was elected Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of America (Eastern) in May 1990. The Diocesan Council organized a reception at the Sheraton Commander Hotel in Cambridge, Mass., in honor of Archbishop Khajag Barsamian’s 40th anniversary of priesthood and 20th anniversary of being Primate.
