[FAR Child Protection]: Children on the Border Celebrate the First Day in their “New” Kindergarten standard

As many around the globe today celebrate International Children’s Day , we at FAR want to share a video about the powerful impact one of our projects has had on children. March 18th was a truly special day for nearly all 600 residents of Chinchin Village in Armenia’s Tavush Province, as it marked the official opening of the village’s newly renovated kindergarten. This is just one of several FAR programs that help the children of Armenia. *The improvements to Chinchin’s kindergarten were made as part of FAR’s Breaking the Cycle of Poverty Program, which is funded by the Mardigian Family Foundation.

[FAR Social Programs]: Bringing Fun to the Children of Berd standard

June 1 – International Children’s Day – was a colorful and happy day for children from the town of Berd and surrounding villages. This year, the celebration was filled with a march for the protection of children’s rights, a children’s concert, and an exhibition. Among the participants in the exhibition were children who attended five different handicraft and drawing groups organized through FAR’s Breaking the Cycle of Poverty Program in Tavush. Petrosyan Aspram and Hovakimyan Vardush regularly attend the handicraft classes in Chinari village. [FAR Scholarships]: Megerian Rugs Entertain the Children of Gavar Orphanage for a Day standard

On June 1st, children from Gavar Orphanage were welcomed at FAR’s Yerevan office. Some of the children were among the beneficiaries of FAR’s Gulamerian Scholarship Program. FAR staff members congratulated them on the joyous occasion of International Children’s Day, distributing presents FAR had prepared for them. Afterwards, the children visited Megerian Rugs*, where the company’s Production and Commercial Director Leonid Andreasyan, and Marketing Director Hayk Ayvazyan greeted them at the entrance. Leonid led the children on an interesting tour of the company’s facilities. He told them the history of the 96-year-old company. The children visited the rug weaving, rug repair and restoration manufacturing departments, all the while absorbing lessons about Armenian rug-weaving traditions.
