[GTech]: Training Opportunities standard

Gyumri Information Technologies Center (GTech) has been actively organizing various training courses that significantly broaden the scope of educational opportunities for the students of secondary and higher education institutions in Gyumri, as well as average citizens. Back in May 2013, GTech, together with the International Association of Students in Economic and Commercial Sciences (AIESEC)* created a presentation about AIESEC’s projects. An AIESEC-er from Japan, Keisuke Koumura, who is a graduate of Kyoto University Local Committee and a vice president of Talent Management at AIESEC, spent three days at GTech. One of the aims of the visit was to integrate GTech students in AIESEC’s activities, since, among other things, the latter provides international internship and volunteering opportunities in the IT sphere. ...

[GTech]: E-Works Training Courses in GTech standard

From January 12 through February 16, GTech together with the Gyumri Economic Development Foundation (GEDF) held training courses for second-year students and graduates that aimed to prepare them to work in the new Gyumri branch of e-Works, a web design studio. The instructor of the training course was web designer and developer Aram Harutyunyan. In addition to raising the students’ level of knowledge of subjects such as PHP Programming, MVC, MySQL, WordPress, JavaScript, and Jquery, he worked to prepare high-quality specialists who could make their first steps in their professional careers by having the chance to work in the new Gyumri branch of e-Works. [GTech]: GTech Concludes Computer Programming Trainings, Two New Web Developers Join Team. standard

By Arpine Sargsyan GTech recently concluded three months of training for local unemployed registrants from the Armenian State Unemployment Agency (ASEA). GTech instructors Aram Harutyunyan and Naira Varosyan led the trainings, which aimed to teach computer programming skills to participants in order to help them become more competitive in the labor market. Instruction included lessons in OS architecture, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, as well as basic program testing procedures. ASEA provided participants with a monthly stipend while they took part in the program. After completing the courses, all of the participants passed the required final exam and received certificates. [GTech]: GTech Develops a New Curriculum on Mobile Platforms. standard

By Arpine Sargsyan        Through a new collaboration with Enterprise Incubator Foundation (EIF), Gyumri Information Technology Center (GTech) has opened the “M-Lab.”.  This lab will provide mobile platform development courses for GTech students and Gyumri’s IT professionals. With a curriculum that focuses on mobile platforms and technologies like Android, iPhone, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile, we hope the given courses will allow for the eventual creation of a mobile development faculty within GTech. Courses include trainings in programs like HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and introduction to mobile web design. They will promote the use of these techniques among specialists and students, thus promoting mobile application development in Gyumri.
