  After 22 years of а medical career in Qamishli, Syria, Syrian-Armenian Hayk Khacho, 49, decided to move to Artsakh in the beginning of 2016. “When I made the final decision to return to Armenia, I contacted my relatives here, and they told me that there was a lack of doctors in Artsakh. So, I immediately headed to Ishkhanadzor, my new gorgeous and peaceful home,” says the doctor. He is the only family doctor in Ishkhanadzor who accepts more than five patients each day from four nearby communities. Hayk has endured a heartbreaking struggle before arriving in Ishkhanadzor. Returning to one’s fatherland as an established professional is an honorable act of homecoming. FAR frequently provides support for diasporan professionals with such a dignified mission. Through its Continuing Medical Education (CME) program for Nagorno Karabagh Republic physicians that is funded by the Armenian-American Health Professional Organization (AAHPO), FAR helps repatriates reintegrate into the Armenian healthcare system after their extensive work experience abroad. [Armenian Life]: All-Armenian Exhibition Dedicated to the 20th Anniversary of Armenia. standard

Among the many events being held in honor of Armenia’s 20th anniversary of independence is the All-Armenian Art Exhibition, which recently opened at Armenia’s Artist House in Yerevan. “We haven’t ever had such an exposition,” Armenian Artists Union Director Karen Aghamyan said. Work from artists throughout Armenia, Karabagh and the Diaspora, including the U.S., Canada, Syria and Georgia, are included in the exhibit, along with the works of Armenian painters. More than 200 works are exhibited, predominantly fine art and sculptures. The exhibition will last until September 25th. Diaspora Minister Hranush Hakobyan, who attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition, congratulated all. “We should make every effort to always cherish the presence of diasporan art in the homeland,” he said. ...
