[Economic Development]: Project to Boost a Village video

Most recently, FAR collaborated with the Global Environmental Facility, UNDP and the Berd Women’s Resource Center, on the renovation and expansion of the local irrigation system in Tavush Village of Tavush Province in Armenia. Now the irrigation system covers 70 hectares of land and enables farmers of Berd region to regularly water their crops with ease. Within the project environmental and agricultural trainings on land usage, UN environmental goals, waste management and women’s role in rural communities were organized as well. We prepared a short video-report about the project to share with you the success we had within Tavush village on the border of Armenia.

[CASP]: Meeting the Needs of Armenian Children standard

This first stop for this year’s Children of Armenia Sponsorship Program (CASP) distribution was in Gyumri. Upon receiving financial support packages, 70 fatherless children from the Shirak region passed neatly marked envelopes to the CASP team. The envelopes contained letters for the children’s benefactors in the U.S. The youngsters always share their successes and other news from their lives with their supporters. FAR Science and Education Programs Manager Edik Karapetyan traveled to CASP’s second stop at the Surb Astvatsatsin (Holy Mother of God) Church of the Tavush village in the Berd region.
