More than 1,100 kg of chocolate donated to 600 people.
That was the result of the Ayo!-FAR Chocolate Bank project for the 2020 New Year.
Since 2014, FAR and Ayo! have worked to collect candy, chocolate and nearly any other kind of sweets during the holiday season to distribute to low-income children in different regions of Armenia.
This year, many individuals and more than 30 organizations in Armenia joined our efforts and helped to bring the joy of the holidays to kindergarteners in seven villages in Shirak and Aragatsotn provinces. Their generosity enabled us to double the original target amount of 550 kg.
Haykush Hakobyan, head of Harich Village Kindergarten, said that not only were the children happy but everyone was put in the holiday mood when the children received the presents. “Every year we celebrate the New Year and Christmas holidays. This year you have made it special for the kids. Usually, our children don’t receive presents like this,” she said.
FAR and Ayo! also distributed surplus candy and chocolate to the Berd, Byureghavan, Nor Hachn and Yerevan soup kitchens in addition to Vanadzor Old Age Home.
Once again, we want to thank each and everyone who supported the project. Thank you for spreading Christmas magic to those in need in the villages of Shirak and Aragatsotn.
